Sheriff deputies in McMinnville, Tenn., acting on a tip, searched the bedroom of two teen-aged boys for a statue of the Virgin Mary stolen from a nearby church. They found the statue, being used as the finishing touch to an occult shrine set up around a circle burned into the floor, with an altar paying homage to several serial killers. “The place gave me the creeps,” said deputy Robert Searcy. “I hope I never see anything like it again.” The teens admitted to the theft, but told Searcy they did not practice the occult: “They told me they danced around the lighted circle, but only for exercise,” he said.
