Ok, my rant at the moment is banks, actually the ptsb in ballyer to be acurate........ I have been banking with this branch for 20 years and to be honest it has gone downhill so badly recently, I know things have changed everywhere and that maybe i am totally naieve but feel that a little personal contact when your in their branch is not to much to ask for.

As I said am banking there 20 years and there was a time most of the staff would know you to say hello to and a lot would know you by name some would even know enough about you to ask "Hows you ma?" or "Did your building work ever get sorted?" etc., but twice since christmas I have had to produce ID as the teller didn't know me!! and on my last visit although wasn't asked for ID the girl never even looked at me she conducted a conversation with the teller beside her for the entire duration of my visit - know your all going to say I am old fashioned but I consider that just plain rude. :icon_bat:

Anyway am going to change banks now and then will start with no illusions and so won't be disappointed..... any suggestions, was thinking of the Halifax in Ballyfermot.

Thanks.

Hi mama3, I am also in the PTSB in ballyfermot and also found it to be exactly as you said. So I started using the PTSB in liffey valley to do all my banking, it took awhile for the tellers to get to know me, but I know a lot of them now and get looked after quite well. I would'nt mind having a bit extra cash in my account though, ahhh who am I kidding I would like to have a lot of extra cash in my account. So if anyone is giving money away please message me :icon_doh:

I,m yet another victim of PTSB Ballyfermot and have also changed to Liffey Valley,my only Rant about Liffey V. is the que's,sometimes there is only one hatch open with two or three staff hangin around chatting in the backround. Also the ATM machines in the bank are largely out of order.Havent heard to much about Halifax, but certainly there Interest rates look pretty good, their credit card rates seem to be much lower than others, thinking of transfering my card to them.:icon_yes:

Also being a victim of the pstb in the past when we moved to Australia I can honestly say Ireland and any company being run in Ireland would benefit from a customer services course run by any Australian company because the customer service over here is second to none , Any of our staff found ignoring a customer would be reprimanded and another infringement they would be fired. A customer comes first all the time after all without them we cant make any money . Ask anyone who has been here ?

Thanks for the suggestions, have started to use Liffey Valley and yep have found them much better, however only problem there is that its very hard to just go into bank and leave shopping center without buying anything, not the same temptations in Ballyfermot!!! Less in Bank account that ever now. Lol!!
