Shirl, I seem to be following you around posting reply's this morning, just want to reassure you its ok, I haven't been arrested for stalking in years....... anyway not reading anything at the moment the last one I finished was Lesley Pearse, Hope have you ever read any of her stuff very good.

Was thinking of buying The Secret as have heard a lot of talk about it recently but don't think its really my kind of thing......... sounds a bit self help, smile and be smiled at..type of stuff and I find all that just a bit much. More of a get on with it kinda person if that makes any sense, but was on another forum the other day and god they were all gushing about this book so was going to see what it was all about. Ever heard of it or read it?

No I havent heard of it,I will google it later and c what its all about,I read everything an anything,but go through phases of not reading for weeks,I like crime stuff like Patrica Cornwall but I will read "chic Lit" too,My hubbie has just finished reading Best(about George) and enjoyed it so I might read that during the summer,:)

I like autobiographies and biographies have read some rubbish ones though, Graham Norton, So Me was bad, and its funny read Sharon Osbournes and didn't like her at the end of it, had no opinion of her either way at the start.

I think my favourite one was Michael Crawford - Parcel Arrived Safely: Tied with String, also enjoyed Gordon Ramsay.

In truth I would read anything.

Whats your all time favourite book or could you name just one. Maybe I should start a thread on that one... have to think about it for a while.... though the first one that springs to mind that I read years ago and still remember clearly was Entwined by Lynda La Plante.

I googled "The Secret" over the weekend,sounds pretty interesting,although I don't think I would read the book,not my kind of thing either.Maybe I'll watch the film see what its all about.I will definetly get my self a Leslie Pierce book on your recommendation Mama3,I have heard others praise her too,what titles do you recommend ? :icon_yes:

Start with either 'Remember Me' or 'Never Look Back' both were really good. I am always nervous recommending books because what you think is a good book someone else thinks is rubbish, hope you enjoy it.

"The Road", by Michael McCarthy is an excellent book. Some people find it bleak, which I guess it is. Not an uplifting read but still one of the best books I have ever read.
