Troubled rocker Pete Doherty is set for more controversy - after a young woman has come forward claiming she is pregnant with his child.
Laura McLaughlin, 20, the god-daughter of Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson, claims she is three months pregnant by the Babyshambles frontman and the baby is due in June.
The "straight-A" student, who has been offered a place at the prestigious Harvard University in the US said: "The baby is Peter's. There is no doubt about that.
"I was a virgin when I met Peter and when we had sex. He knows about the baby. I told him I was pregnant the moment I found out."
A spokesman for Doherty said: "Pete says he doesn't know who this girl is."
Doherty, 28, has a four-year-old son Astile with ex-girlfriend Lisa Moorish.
